The Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico is the largest nonprofit food bank that serves Curry, Roosevelt, De Baca, Quay and Guadalupe Counties in eastern New Mexico. We have the following opportunities to join our team:   

Programs Assistant

 

Full-Time Position: Programs Assistant

Close Date: Open until position is filled

Location: Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico, Clovis NM

Reports to: Executive Director

Status: Full-Time Position (36 hours a week)

Pay: $12.75 per hour

 

Position Summary

The Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico is seeking an onsite full-time Programs Assistant to join our team. The position reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for assisting with the coordination and support of the Food Bank’s wide array of feeding programs. Standard hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays MST and some special events throughout the year. The primary office and warehouse location is in Clovis, NM and expanding into Portales, NM within the year.

 

Essential job functions:

  • Assisting clients at food distributions and handling sensitive and confidential client information.

  • Responding to inquiries from persons in need of food and other assistance.

  • Maintaining federal food program guidelines and oversight.

  • Act as a liaison to partner feeding agencies and cultivate those partnerships.

  • Recruiting, scheduling and supervision of volunteers.

  • Assists and/or fills in for other personnel when necessary.

  • Other duties assigned.  

  • Minimal travel may be required.

 

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

  • PC proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, walk and stand for long periods of time.

  • Professional office experience and detail-oriented.

  • Flexibility and willing to perform any and all tasks that elevate and promote the mission of the organization.

  • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with other staff, clients and other organizations.

  • Ability to seamlessly transition and work between office and warehouse settings.

  • Ability to take initiative, exercise discretion, and sound judgment.

 

Work Environment:

  • Professional work and warehouse environment and subject to mechanical hazards, noise from equipment.

  • Some work can be outside in varying temperatures.
