The Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico is partnering with Rooney Moon Broadcasting for a one-day mission to “Stuff Nancy’s Truck.” Non-perishable food donations are being sought for the daylong food drive from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 2 at Albertson’s grocery store in Clovis.
The Q101.5 morning show and KT Kelley afternoon show will be broadcast live from the food drive.
“The Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico is serving more food to families and children than we ever have in our 31 years. Just this past month the Backpack program registered a record high of 809 children. The number of calls we receive each day from people in need has gone up considerably and the demand for food is the highest I’ve ever seen,” said Food Bank Director Dianna Hernandez.
Suggested food donations include staples such as beans, rice, spices, canned meats, pasta and single-serve food items for the Food for Kids Weekend Backpack Program.
For information, to donate or volunteer contact the Food Bank at 763-6130.
In its 31st year, the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico partners with 32 agencies and 25 schools to deliver emergency food to families and individuals in Curry, Roosevelt, Quay, De Baca, Guadalupe and Torrance counties in eastern New Mexico.
