Commissioner Sandra Taylor-Sawyer spoke to the YPC (Young Professionals Club) luncheon group at the Food Bank on Monday, November 17.Recently the Food Bank has been blessed with luncheon visits from the Leadership Clovis Group and YPC. Both have endured our frigidly fluctuating warehouse temperatures to find out a little more about the Food Bank and our Programs.
After Mike Morris, President of YPC, opened the meeting, Joan Hultman of the Food Bank answered questions from the group about how the Food Bank operates, and many other questions about the Weekend Food for Kids Backpack Program.
Commissioner Sandra Taylor-Sawyer spoke about the City Commission and what the Commissioners do for the City of Clovis and its people. As she spoke Sandra circulated around the room and asked questions of the group. The exchange of information was enlightening to many of the group, especially information on Commission posts to be vacated in the near future. Taylor-Sawyer challenged the group to step up their participation in City government.
YPC donated $200 today to purchase a pallet of food to help stock Food Bank shelves for the upcoming holidays and beyond.
Leadership Clovis has chosen the Weekend Food for Kids Backpack Program as one of their projects for 2015.
THANK YOU to both these groups for your support and efforts on our behalf!
