Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico hosts 1st Annual End of Summer Kids Bash

Kids Bash PosterIn support of the Weekend Food for Kids Backpack Program, the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico will be hosting our 1st Annual End of Summer Kids Bash and 1K Fun Run this Saturday, July 26.  Come to the Old Clovis Municipal Golf Course (now the Soccer Complex) on the Norris Street side of Hillcrest Park (look for the signs and Nancy’s Truck).

Registration for the Fun Run begins at 10:00 a.m. with the race starting at 11:00 a.m. Children from age 5 through 12 may sign up. To participate, kids must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver, and pay the race fee of $10.00 per child or donate any combination of 5 Food Items needed for the Weekend Food for Kids Backpack Program as listed on the Bash poster. Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place race winners. The Food Bank will also have hotdogs, free water, games and information available on area kids agencies, businesses and activities. Be sure to grab some goodies from the Bake Sale and have a great time!

Now Accepting Donations for FBENM 2nd Annual Rummage Sale!

rummage sale color The Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico is accepting DONATIONS OF GOOD TO GREAT STUFF for our 2nd Annual Rummage Sale, Saturday, August 2, 2014!

So if you’ve had a Garage Sale, Yard Sale or your organization has had a Fundraiser Sale and you have leftover items, the Food Bank will take your DONATIONS!

Volunteers are needed and welcomed.

Just give us a call at 575-763-6130 for more information!

Remember…on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 8 a.m. the sale will open! COME ONE, COME ALL and BUY! BUY! BUY!

Special Distribution in De Baca County.

The Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico is expanding its services in De Baca County by hosting a Special Food Distribution at 1 pm, Thursday, July 24, at the Annex, 514 S. Ave. C.

The food distribution will be open to qualified individuals living in the Ft. Sumner area who are not currently being served at another food distribution site. All food recipients will be asked to fill out an income eligibility form required by The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).

Each household will receive 40 plus pounds of a combination of perishable and non-perishable food.

The distribution will be facilitated by the Food Bank’s staff. The Food Bank’s facility in Clovis will be closed for the business day to allow for the distribution.

Anyone who would like to volunteer with the distribution can contact the Food Bank at 575-763-6130. Any donations in advance of the distribution are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off at the Food Bank at 2217 Brady in Clovis.
